Hamersley redevelopment wins national award for innovation
The City of Stirling's $20 million redevelopment of Hamersley Public Golf Course, completed in late 2024, has won the ‘Productivity through Infrastructure’ category at the 2025 National Awards for Local Government. The project features a two-storey entertainment-style driving range with radar tracking, a 500-person bar and restaurant, putting simulators, and a large public art installation. Since reopening, visitor numbers have surged to around 265,000 in six months—far exceeding the prior annual average.
