About
Long Reef Golf Club, located in Collaroy, New South Wales, opened in 1921 as a nine-hole course on high coastal sands. Dan Soutar expanded it to an 18-hole championship layout in 1931, and Peter Thomson's redesign in 1994 improved its playability. The club features kikuyu fairways and Poa Annua greens overlooking the Tasman Sea, with stunning cliff-top tee shots on holes seven and sixteen. The clubhouse was built in 1965, and a proposal for a AUD22 million renovation was submitted in June 2025. Long Reef ranks among Australia’s top public courses and partners with local conservation groups to protect headland flora.
